The quality of the materials is excellent. The slides go hand-in-hand with the book and are a great review following reading. The Jump-Start videos are excellent with great graphics and demonstrations to reinforce the textbook materials. They were a hit with my young students.

Common Questions

Instructor Resources FAQ

Ham Radio School offers two class support options for each FCC Amateur Radio Service license level — Technician, General, and Amateur Extra.

Option 1 — Online Course-Supported Class Format
This option uses our proven online courses as the primary learning content. Students study asynchronously on their own schedules, guided by a pacing schedule you provide (with our recommendations) to keep the class progressing together. Class administrators provide Elmer support through practical radio demonstrations, concise review sessions, Q&A, and supplemental instruction using our coordinated presentation materials as needed. Review sessions may be held in person or via remote meeting.

This option is quick and easy to implement — it eliminates the overhead of live lesson preparation and content delivery, and substantially reduces the scheduling burden of traditional classroom formats.

Option 2 — Instructor-led Class Format
This is a traditional book-and-lecture format in a live classroom setting, with instructors using our presentation materials to deliver lesson-by-lesson instruction alongside our study book. Sessions may be in person or remote. Our classroom presentation charts are fully coordinated with the study book and online course sequence, provided in MS PowerPoint® format and rich with colorful illustrations, photographs, embedded video and audio, animations, and click-to-reveal content sequences.

Our supplemental media and interactive visualization apps can further enhance instruction — providing visual and auditory demonstrations of challenging concepts such as modulation, digital signal encoding, filtering, and more.

This option requires more planning and preparation effort, but Ham Radio School is happy to help you get up and running with our ready-made resources and materials.

There is no cost to instructors, clubs, or institutions offering the license class. Ham Radio School provides its instructional materials at no charge, with the agreement that students will be required to obtain the appropriate Ham Radio School online course subscription or print book to participate in the class.

All costs are student costs for the acquisition of learning content, with pricing clearly shown on our website. Quantity discounts for both online course subscriptions and print books are available beginning at 10 units.

Begin by completing our Instructor/Club inquiry form. Access to our classroom presentation charts and a complimentary term subscription to our online course requires registering as an individual instructor with Ham Radio School.

Registration is completed through a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), which we will prepare and deliver for electronic signature or ink signature. The NDA defines our terms of use for copyrighted materials, including:

  • A prohibition on sharing digital files with non-registered persons
  • Strict limitations on publicly accessible recordings of instruction using our materials
  • Classroom display — in person or by remote meeting — as the standard approved use

Following FCC license verification and NDA completion, we share our classroom presentation charts with you via the Dropbox® cloud service.
